While struggling to hire a worthy employee, young club owner Ben gets unexpected help dealing with unwelcome guests.
‘Booze City’ was born from my strong desire to make something that was pure entertainment. I felt I had made too many serious mature projects and wanted to get back in touch with the sort of films that excited me as a kid. ‘Booze City’ has themes of heroism, protection and bravery but its primary function is to entertain.
Hit with the sudden urge to create this work of pure entertainment, I had about a month to meet the deadline for the 2016 MyRodeReel online short film competition. To facilitate this fast turn-around, I took on almost every role myself. The exception being cinematography, which I left to my good friend Bram Aarts.
